Everything Valtrax Research ships is bench material for in-vitro work. None of it is a drug, a supplement, a cosmetic, or a medical device, and none of it is intended for human or animal use, ingestion, or administration. Placing an order is your confirmation that you are a qualified researcher buying for lawful research, under every Canadian law and regulation that applies to you.
Two chains, one of them shared. The alpha subunit is common to LH, FSH and TSH; the beta subunit is hCG's signature and the source of its extended reach beyond luteinizing hormone. Dense glycosylation does the rest, keeping it in circulation long after the related gonadotropins would have cleared.
That profile earns it two separate jobs on the bench — a durable stand-in for LH at the shared receptor, and a gestational signal the maternal immune system is tuned to read.
From one receptor, the work runs two ways. The endocrine arm tracks steroid output and the hormone's service as an LH surrogate. The immune arm follows how hCG conditions maternal tolerance and supports implantation. A third, smaller thread carries the signaling into tumor contexts.
Because hCG and LH land on a single shared receptor, the hormone works as a long-lasting proxy for LH-driven signaling — slow to clear, sustained in effect. In gonadal tissue that translates to steroidogenesis. The second research front looks nothing like the first: here hCG is read as a messenger the immune system uses to keep from rejecting the fetus.
The published lines split along that seam — reproductive endocrinology on one side, immune modulation and tumor biology on the other.
Among glycoprotein hormones, hCG was characterized early and thoroughly — subunit architecture, receptor, and role in pregnancy were all on record before most of its peers.
The newer chapters lie elsewhere: its immunological face as a gestational tolerance signal, and its recurring presence in oncology settings.
A structured evidence summary for this item is still being written. The primary literature listed under Molecule is the starting point in the meantime.
